Africa Shalom Mission (ASM)

Our Mission and Vision

Africa Shalom Mission (ASM) is faith-based, charitable organization that supports and promotes child -focused community development initiatives in Rwanda. At ASM, we follow the model presented in scripture which says that Jesus as a child “grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52). We focus on the entire child, engage the entire family, and offer economic development opportunities to the entire community. ASM prioritizes the extremely poor, we actively challenge and engage local churches as they fulfill their biblical calling to care for the most vulnerable in their respective communities

Our Mission

Engage in a holistic, empowering approach as we assist vulnerable children, their respective families, and the broader community in their journey of lifting themselves out of poverty

Our Vision

Children released from poverty and living in flourishing families and communities.

What we Believe

We Believe that the Scriptures are inspired by God and declare His design and plan for mankind.

We Believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity).

We believe that all people are lost and guilty of sin. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and people. Salvation is brought about, not by works, but by faith in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of the world.

We Believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We Believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God’s son Jesus was both human and divine.

We Believe that the Church is God’s ordained agent of transformation in the world and that the local church is both an agent and a sign of God’s kingdom within its community. The local church is a body of living witnesses to God’s work in a specific time, place and culture – and central to the transformation of that community.

We Acknowledge that Jesus came to preach good news to all people including the poor and the marginalized. As His ambassadors, we are committed to them, affirm their worth, call them to be children of God through faith in Christ and seek to release them from poverty and despair.
